lovebox: a retrospective

we headed to victoria park this weekend for the 10th annual lovebox festival. highlights included; grace jones- as mad as a box of frogs and my new hero. and the carousel ride thingy.

my only regret is turning down the guy on the tube offering to show us the time of our lives and half a bottle of rose if we let him take us to lovebox (as we discreetly hid our wristbands). In hindsight, him and his friends probably weren’t dodgy drug dealers and were just really excited about seeing mika or something.

because its sometimes confusing leaving the comforts of the W2 area some questions arose:

why are people wearing short shorts during a hurricane?

is he checking me out because he’s straight OR gay and likes my fashion?

is the lead singer of friendly fires having an epileptic fit or is that just how he dances?

how do I really feel about chaka khans denim onesie?

and most importantly why the hell is bip ling wearing my chloe boots?!? (http://www.bipling.com/ )

coke scandal rocks w2

you may remember A from the diet coke ads. (as well as being a frequent W210 character). http://thegrove-w210.blogspot.com/2010/09/i-think-im-engaged.html . you won’t be wrong if you noticed her missing from the latest campaign.

where's A?

this is due to an incriminating photo of her which has recently surfaced online. Her agent insists it was taken years ago.

however all is not lost, A, the 'kate moss of the beverage world' has scored herself another lucrative campaign and her career is back on track and set to be better than ever despite the scandal.

wanted: dog sitter

KW’s adorable pup poppy needs dog sitting in march. we’re all off to the snow for a gnarly ‘boned out’ ( http://www.abc-of-snowboarding.com/snowboarddictionary.asp ) boarding holiday. although J infamously likes to play hard and work hard she won’t be making it due to ‘business’ commitments. hence she is the obvious choice for this task…. i use the word obvious loosely because based on previous babysitting/being responsible experiences J had to prove herself worthy first. she decided a day of dogsitting the neighbours’ pooch would be good experience and may boost KW’s confidence in her abilities.

I returned to the flat to find this scene and J nowhere in sight.

I later found out that our neighbour was frantically roaming the streets trying to find their 'missing' dog.

Poppy will now be staying at a pet hotel (5 star obvs)

highlights from december holidays include:

J returned from her world book tour (with presents)

i was offered free spanish lessons (i politely declined)

i held a pair of chloe susan boots in my hand…which until now where simply a fashion myth to me (the bad news was i did not have £1000 to purchase them)


i spent a lot of time at KW and PW’s…almost resulting in my own set of keys. which is a good thing because PW makes the best french martinis and they have sky+.

now in january I am back to my old routine and have to be weened off my staple diet of champagne and cheese. apparently this does not constitute a balanced diet. i can’t think of anything worse… well besides stone washed jeans and a matching jacket. everything’s relative.

do i look fat in this?

we headed to barcelona this weekend in honour of K and her impending nuptials.
things got a little awkward when 'someone' in the group gave a champagne induced confession that they may have feelings for CB (K's fiance) which i feel was the catalyst for the following string of incidents and admissions:

it came to light that K had been spiking J's coffee with her weight gain milkshake powder, (that K had been taking in order to not lose too much weight for the wedding/her dress ) for some time now. ironically J no longer fits in to her chosen outfit. photographic evidence showing T dancing around the flat in K's wedding dress was presented when T accused J of a skype related incident involving pineapples. chaos insued when J 'accidently spilt her drink over K's miu miu's...

but as the expression goes 'what happens in barcelona stays in barcelona', so the official statement is that a great time was had by all, and we are looking forward to the glamourous cotswolds wedding next month.

expose; little red riding hood

while walking to arts club last wednesday eve (http://www.nottinghillartsclub.com/wednesday.html) i spotted what i thought was a muslim women with a most attractive red coloured head covering (and black pleather bike pants). i was confused - something didn’t add up… however, as i got closer, i came to realise that the women had a striking resemblance to little red riding hood** (or what i imagine little red riding hood to look like when she got older)

i followed her (discretely of course) to her residence. it appears that, like other stars and good looking people, she has taken refuge and now lives in w210

as you are well aware (from our other blog entries), we try our hardest to ensure all we report on is as factual as possible. to that end, we spoke to the most intelligent person we know, mrs s strawberry (she is a chief executive). we showed her a pic of red ridding hood in her hay day (english saying meaning peak of her career), and the photo i took. as you are undoubtly thinking, the evidence speaks for itself

** for the foreign followers of the blog, red riding hood is a fable about greed, vengeance and seduction made famous in the 80’s. originally, it bought comfort to lots of french children (of peasants) in the 14^th century. numerous versions of the story existed, including ‘la finta nonna’ … which translates into ‘the false grandmother’

we ♥ long weekends

hope you all had a great bank holiday weekend. we enjoyed some time in the country as we ventured outside of travelcard zone 1 on more than one occasion... kentish town was the venue for celeb photog chloe and husband Jason's wedding anniversary celebration (J and i cancelled our weekend on the french riviera at the last minute to attend). due to the nottinghill carnival, brunch club had to be relocated to another grove- hammersmith grove in shepherds bush- a place where children live, flowers blossom and wildlife, including ants and birds, roam free. despite this, myself, J, A and KW had a successful debrief session of the nights events as well as discussing KW's impending oprah appearance (she invented the popular chanel handbag diet and has a book deal in the pipeline)

to summarise a relaxing weekend was had catching up with old friends....

... it is always awkward bumping into your ex... but a great time was had by all.

sources who knew the head gardener's son through a supermarket incident (that may or may have not offered them the opportunity to appear on jeremy kyle) confirmed that the world famous anonymous bloggers left half way through the ceremony

you're stranded at arts club on a random wed night, it's good music, and you're dancing (please note that this pic was not taken at arts club, and some of the people are used to denote/ stand in for otehrs, while some are playing themselves. e.g. A is missing) ...when out of the blue you are approached by a cutie - he thinks he's 22, though looks 18 (he has a baby face he protests). he is still living at home wiht his parents (just off high st ken) ... this guy's dad is loaded!

so, which of these "celebs" would you rather call for assistance?

graham loves W210

last night we were invited to star in the graham norton show...

other guests included donald sutherland, matt le blanc and david mitchell. however we are pretty sure we are going to be cut from the actual show (to be aired friday, 10:35pm, BBC1) after J's kiefer sutherland bombshell. 75 year old donald was shocked by J's anecdote about the time kiefer tried to pick her up in Soho... but a great time was had by all. and graham loves the blog.

a very special brunch club

brunch club was founded about a year ago by T, D and J

once a month, we get together to discuss important matters of state (w210) and other fun/ interesting and scandalous stuff. off course, as with all secret societies this is an invite only affair… with only the coolest of people considered

last sunday marked a very special brunch club – queen S and her new hubby are heading back to the land of white cloud to name their new boat... so the fairest in the land gathered at 202

...one of the highlights of brunch was Debbie W’s brilliant yet horrific story (1. went to jungle 2. car 3. surrounded by tribal men 4. rescued by a hottie on a scooter… and Debbie W alive today to tell the story).. she tells it much better

my memory tablets are yet to start working. S has just reminded me about the loin cloths, sweat, man on roof, crazy dancing and machettes!!

... in other news, T and I have secured a place in the waiter’s soon to be published memoires (his explosive book is about different ways people ask for checks)

everybody is going x factor mad this week... and whats this...?? J and Wagner spotted enjoying a romantic dinner in notting hill on sunday night!!! scandelous! especially considering she was enjoying the company of the 1 direction boys just the night before. seems like J likes an older man after all... who can blame her. Wagner is hot (and talented)

our personal favourite is harry, who seems to have it all - from great looks to the cutest dimples

what fantastic high to end the week on!

the russians -a long term favourite of ours and (gorgeous) fifa president s blatter, won the race yesterday to open up new markets. speculation is growing about what sorts of markets these will be

...although not confirmed, we think, these markets will need to involve really good looking people

T and i have been asked to discuss the possibility of representing. we will be meeting the igbafbs (that is international governing body association of football and beach soccer) at their headquarters in switzerland when gatwick opens for business again

two engagements ... and a public announcement

although my world was brought to a standstill ... for four individuals, last week, has been magical

we are delighted to share with you the engagement news of two very special w210 couples; so as not to play favourites, the following is (to the best of our knowledge) in chronological order

tom (aka james franco) and mil (and some other guy)it was a romantical autumn day... he took her to a special place in hyde park ...and did it there. mil couldn't resist his charm = she said yes!

sheena and dan (airport)their love is the stuff books are made of... they met briefly (while helping/ cleaning the elderly) 3 days before sheena got deported to the end of the world (canda)... so it was only fitting that the proposal took place at the customs counter at heathrow

and a public announcement:newton's third law of motion (f1= -f2) states that in every interaction there is a pair of forces acting on the two interacting objects etc etc ... in real life, this means that M & N's engagement (announced last month) is the end of my marriage to nathan
