have a good bank holiday weekend everyone!

our passports are packed and we've taken our shots as we're out of W2 for the weekend and off to the lake district for the wedding of the year. congrats josh and elle! (lucky we got our bridesmaids dresses just in time)

segment #1*: the best cocktails in town

upstairs at the oak ~ westbourne park road's best kept secret. go for the not very good looking french waiter and awesome mila jovavich look-a-like bar lady

montgomery place ~ they dry their own fruit. they make good cocktails. sometimes they give you free drinks (unlike the electric, these barmen can be conned by 2 face models)

and finally a word of warning:
if you're going to PIX on westbourne grove for tapas and cocktails beware of the crazy eyed barman who has an unhealthy obsession with fruity cocktails even after specifically telling him you like non-girly hardcore bourbon based cocktails, and have already had your 5 a day quota

3 reasons why....

# we like wednesdays
it's the new thursday (thursday was the new friday 5 years ago)
it's cheap date movie night... which works out well because its not a prime time (fri-sun) date night
it's when we get to see the guy who walks the chiwawas on a sunday down portobello rd at notting hill arts club (without the dogs)

# we like tuesdays
in a few years time tuesday will be the new wednesday. its very up and coming
that jedward show is on tv
it's to soon to like mondays. you cant live that far in the future

# we like jake
he's a model
he's really good looking
he doesn't need a personality

#we dont like positivity
things can always get worse and usually do... people die
we're all going to die
the war

we like condiments...

...and the kind folks at the electric on portobello road. a special shout out to kestas, the lithuanian barman who enjoys a game of noughts and crosses as much as the next person, sunsets, holding hands and is cunning enough not to be conned by a couple of face models

anybody who was anyone was out to support the launch of w210 season 2- what promises to be filled with drama, intrigue, twists & turns and good looking people

a great night was had by all...

the westbourne

what makes “the westbourne” so popular with the crew is the variety of clientele that it attracts

“business man” (shirt buttoned to the top, and sometimes, even accompanied by a tie), pictured below with friends wearing mufti

“leisure man” (one button undone) with mysterious and anonymous woman

“pleasure man” (two buttons undone)… who usually like working out and long walks on the beach
"wrong"/ "too far", inappropriate and unprofessional (but can sell a lot of butter)...

Also, “models” who sell the use of their body parts to marketing agencies … this is a handmodel

... and although they were 'elsewhere'/ strayed from the mother ship ... 'kate and pete' are almost always present/ not far

fishnets… whatever happened to fishnets? i would like to wear a pair on sunday (it is, after all, good outfit day)
but i wonder if they are still cool. i haven’t heard that they aren’t, but that doesn’t mean that they are – i don’t want to fall into a false sense of security
also, i rarely see people wear them… though perhaps, that is a function of the season we are in (summer)
talking to myself is confusing... perhaps i shouldn't
